Generating commercial demand allows us to structure value chains and ensure consistent purchasing, alongside the standardization of technical product specifications, processing methods, and storage conditions, among other aspects.
This virtuous cycle provides a genuine financial alternative for producers and communities, yielding a highly positive impact on the preservation of African forest ecosystems. At the same time, it generates sustainable economic activities that serve as a real alternative to other practices lacking positive ecosystem externalities for the local environment.
Excellence growers - Sustainable sourcing
Social values alignment: we meticulously develop a selection process to identify growers aligned with our ethical standards (women rights preservation, zero tolerance for child labor, fair wages and safety on the workplace). Excellence growers are private growers or small cooperatives that are specialized in a specific ingredient with whom we partner to ensure a comprehensive compliance throughout our value chain.
Long-term commitment: our Excellence growers model is the start of a mutual, quality and traceability engagement for the product sourced. This implies a long term commitment with a strong social impact on the communities.
Social Development Projects: long term relations lead to long term projects that allow communities to thrive in terms of health, professional integration, economy development or education promotion.
Preserving biodiversity and promoting ecosystem services
Our activities make a significant contribution to preserving local biodiversity.
More than 80% of the species we work with are native to Africa. By developing markets and value chains around these species, we support their preservation while generating income for our Excellence growers.
These species are adapted to local ecosystems, requiring no pesticides and no artificial irrigation, which reduces pressure on water resources.
Building economic activity around local biodiversity also gives communities a lasting incentive to protect forests from being cleared for timber or other uses.
Sustainable Forestry Practices
Multiplication of local species: we finance nurseries to ensure the preservation of the crop so that the product is available when needed.
Crop resilience: cultivating native species adapted to the local ecosystem without requiring supplementary resources like spraying or irrigation.
Carbon sequestration: returning crop residues to soil to ensure organic matter and carbon capture. Preserving forest is also a key strategy aligned with Carbon sequestration.
